Trish Perkins went back to college at 55 to “learn about computers,” and fell in love with databases. She installed her first Salesforce when she was a VISTA volunteer at an immigrant assistance nonprofit. She put together a “retirement” job — American clients and international clients paying affordable rates. While working for a human services charity in Darjeeling, India, Trish realized that the 75 field workers all needed to be entering their client data on a mobile survey app and at the same time understood that everything on the market was too expensive. She resolved to find a way to build an affordable survey app. GrassRoots Mobile Survey App, the topic of her presentation today, launched with Salesforce help in December, 2022.
